CALL FOR WRITERS

Texas High Magazine is a blog and online magazine dedicated to celebrating the GOOD happening in Texas high schools. We want it to be written BY students ABOUT students. YOU find the story. YOU write the story. YOU take the pictures. The goal? We want everyone to know that Texas high school students are something to celebrate. We want the world to know that the future is bright!

HOW TO GET PUBLISHED

There are two ways to get published with Texas High Magazine.

1. On the Blog – Students may be published on the blog. We hope to publish multiple pieces to the blog every weekday. This gives MANY students the opportunity to be published.
2. In the Magazine – Exceptional pieces may be published to the digital magazine. If you’re chosen to be published in the digital magazine, you may be directly contacted by a Texas High Magazine staff member. Stories published in the magazine may be stories of personal interest, stories of triumph, stories of exceptional achievements, and more.

***Submissions are NOT guaranteed to be published. If they are published, the author and photographer will be credit by name. Just because ONE story doesn’t get published, it doesn’t mean you should give up. You’re welcome to submit as many stories as you want. We’re looking at the QUALITY of the pieces.***

WHAT CAN I WRITE ABOUT?

One of the best things about Texas High Magazine is that we want to hear it all — as long as it’s positive. Sports, academics, clubs and organizations, special trips or events, individual achievements, activism in the community. If you can find a positive story, we want to hear it!

We’re also accepting submissions that showcase your talent and wisdom. Are you a senior who has great advice for incoming freshmen? Advice about testing? Insight into college applications? Write us an advice column.

Do you have a question? Write us with your ANONYMOUS questions, and we’ll ask for advice from all over the state.

Do you have a great idea for a story, but you’re not sure where it fits? ASK! We’re here to celebrate YOU, so we love questions, suggestions, and input from students and teachers alike.

WHY SHOULD I WRITE FOR TEXAS HIGH MAGAZINE?

There are multiple benefits to getting published in Texas High Magazine. First, we get to celebrate YOU and your school. Second, you’ll get your name on the byline. Your work will be attributed to YOU, and you’ll be officially published. You can use this for scholarships, applications, and plain old bragging rights.

In the future, we hope to offer even more incentives for getting published. WE’RE WORKING ON some GREAT bonuses that will come with getting your work published on the blog or the online magazine. STAY TUNED!
